SB 375 (Steinberg, 2007), if passed, would require regions to include "sustainable communities strategies" in the regional transportation plans. Transportation a Focus in Meeting State Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets

Bill Fulton writes in the California Development Report that lawmakers are looking towards transportation as a new focus in meeting the State's greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets mandated under AB 32.  Lawmakers and air quality officials are considering ways to reduce statewide VMT.
